The part of my original judgment that verification confirmed: 8GB is genuinely not enough for AI video. These two numbers sit together to give the budget a market coordinate, and that is all I use them for. I am deliberately not deriving a payback period or a savings figure from them, because I do not have defensible numbers for that kind of claim and refuse to present ones I cannot stand behind. Why the dedicated drive matters for security: company footage and credentials never mix with personal files, the whole company workload can be handed over or audited by moving one physical drive, and my personal data never has to leave with it.
